The labeling gun has four basic components or moves; the printer head, the ink roller, the label and the label glue.
Print heads consist of simple bracelets with rollers and rubber bands. The synthetic bands have brocaded changeable characters on them which impart the data. The bands can be cycled round their frame to present the desired data on the print head. The print head can offer up virtually any number of combinations for printing. You can also load block bands of entire words. This may be suitable for an operation that addresses only limited product or process or operator ranges (e.g., Expedite, Standard, 2nd Class, Low Priority).
The head of print can also be sequential where numeration is needed. Depending on the program the counter can be arranged in any variety of ways. This is especially beneficial for applications in quality control and production.
Thanks to chemical technological growth, ink technology adds an additional functionality dimension to the label pistol. Thermo-sensitive inks may be used in temperature-sensitive applications such as food labelling to provide additional assurance. Inks sensitive to warmth may signal if food has defrosted or stored during transit. Labels attached to items placed in an autoclave can ensure the item is subject to the required heat. It is indicated by alteration of color of the ink.
While paper is the most common mark, in difficult environments different materials have uses. All alternative options for meeting specific circumstances are plasticised, impregnated paper or metallic labels. Evident free removal is impossible where labels are cut in part in order to ensure that they will perish when removed. Additional more sophisticated security features, such as holographics and foil strips, may also be incorporated.
